Closed Searches for Investment Advisors

On August 8, 2011, LABF solicited proposals from qualified firms to provide investment management services in three asset categories: (1) Fixed Income Core Plus, (2) Fixed Income Multi-Sector, and (3) Real Estate Core/Value-Add/Opportunistic. Responses were due no later than August 19, 2011. Investment consultant NEPC, LLC is assisting with the searches.

The Quiet Period begins when the RFPs are issued and ends when an investment advisor(s) is selected by the Retirement Board or the process is declared to be complete. Responding investment advisors will not contact Board members during the Quiet Period. An investment advisor will be disqualified from the selection process for violating the Quiet Period. The Quiet Period for the above RFPs began August 8, 2011.

On December 12, 2011, LABF solicited proposals from qualified firms to provide Global Macro Hedge Fund of Fund services. Responses were due no later than January 9, 2012. Investment consultant NEPC, LLC is assisting with the search.

The Quiet Period begins when the RFP is issued and ends when an investment advisor(s) is selected by the Retirement Board or the process is declared to be complete. Investment advisors will not contact Board members during the Quiet Period. An investment advisor will be disqualified from the selection process for violating the Quiet Period. Global Tactical Asset Allocation Manager Search Update

On May 2, 2011, LABF solicited proposals from qualified investment advisors to provide Global Tactical Asset Allocation (GTAA) Investment Management Services. Responses were due no later than May 20, 2011.

After evaluating the responding firms, the LABF Board of Trustees awarded $48 million to PIMCO Collective Investment Trust and $72 million to Wellington Management Company. (back to top)
