In accordance with Illinois law, an election must be held to select a board trustee of the Laborers’ and Retirement Board Employees’ Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago (“LABF”) representing the Fund’s annuitants to serve a three-year term beginning December 2, 2026 and ending December 1, 2029.

The Board of Trustees of the LABF (“Board”) hereby gives notice that the election will be held on October 1, 2026 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:

1.     LABF Office located at 150 North Wacker Drive, Suite 800, Chicago, Illinois 60606

2.     LiUNA Local 1001 located at 323 South Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60607

3.     LiUNA Local 1092 located at 3841 South Halsted Street, Chicago, Illinois 60609

The election will be by ballot and will be conducted in accordance with the rules established by the Board as required by law. All employee annuitants and widow annuitants of the LABF as of the date of the election are eligible to vote in this election.

Any qualified annuitant member of the LABF who is a former employee receiving an age and service or prior service annuity is eligible to become a candidate for this position.

Any eligible annuitant member of the LABF who desires to become a candidate for trustee in this election must submit a Nominating Petition in person to the office of the LABF during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but no later than 3:00 p.m. on August 17, 2026. 

To obtain a Nominating Petition, potential candidates must first submit a Petition Application to the LABF no later than 3:00 p.m. on August 14, 2026.
